Learn database basics in episode three of AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner

We’ve hit the half-way point in our six-week Twitch series, AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner. You can get caught up on the previous episodes on demand at your convenience. Then, join us next week for episode three.

We offer two live, 60-minute shows each week: Mondays at 7:30 a.m. PT and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. PT. As a friendly reminder, the content covered in each version is roughly the same but presented by a different set of hosts. Watch one or both—your choice!

Episode two recap

In episode two, we dug into topics like compute, network, and even pricing (yes, it’s on the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam!). In particular, we took a close look at Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) by exploring what it means to set up an Amazon EC2 instance and what you need to consider when creating one for your needs, such as different instance types. During AWS Power Hour: Q&A, we received some great questions about content from our first episodes. AWS Power Hour: Q&A livestreams 30 minutes before each AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner as an open-forum.

Sneak peek: episode three

Next week, our hosts will move into discussing database services. You will learn about database services like Amazon Dynamo DB and Amazon Relational Database Service, as well as the differences between relational and non-relational databases. We’ll also talk about Elastic Load Balancing, which automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as Amazon EC2 instances, containers, IP addresses, and Lambda functions.
