Today, Amazon Elastic Container Registry Public (Amazon ECR Public) announced the ability to launch containers directly from the ECR Public Gallery to AWS App Runner to quickly test popular web application container images. AWS App Runner is a fully managed service that makes it easier for developers to quickly deploy web applications and APIs, at scale with no prior infrastructure experience required.
While browsing the gallery, you will see a 'Launch with App Runner' button for web application images compatible with App Runner. For example, you will see the button on the hello-app-runner image or Nginx Clicking this button opens the ‘Deploy Service’ page on the App Runner Management Console where you can change any of the default settings before running the container. On the other hand, this button is not available on the AWS for Fluent Bit image which is not a web application.
